Who is James P. Hogan?
I'm NOT the James Hogan that was a county clerk somewhere. I don't know
the guy nor do I have an opinion or knowledge about him. I am James Hogan,
Salutatorian of Keansburg Public High School class of 1998 and graduate of Rutger's
University with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I live in Long Branch,
New Jersey where I own a house with my girlfriend, Celina, and we raise her son
and our black Labrador retriever puppy named Allie. I've never been convicted,
or even accused, of a crime (aside from a traffic violation or two) and
generally live a modest and quiet life, just trying to pay my bills and take
care of my family.
I am the middle child of parents who have been happily married for 25 years. My
older brother, William, is a fellow Rutger's graduate and my younger brother,
David, is set to graduate from St. John Vianney High School this spring. My
father, George, who raised me continues to set a great example of being a
hard working American, working two full time jobs, one at Columbia University
and one at Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital, in order to raise his family and
provide a sufficient lifestyle for himself, his wife and his children. My mother,
Sally, is also a working American, working as the director of the aftercare
program for Holy Family School in Hazlet NJ.
I'm not a politician, in fact, a popular political commentator,
Art Gallagher,
noted this in his
blog
"Unlike many politicians who declare that they are not politicians as a
political ploy, Hogan really isn.t a politician. He knows as much about
political science as I do about computer science". I don't WANT to be a
politician, I WANT to be a representative of the hard working people of New
Jersey.
Symptoms of the Frank Pallone Virus:
We CAN fix these problems. I don't have all of the solutions, but we the
people as a whole certainly do know how to solve these problems. What we need
is a representative of the people who is willing to listen to the people
and communicate with the people and work with the people to solve the problems
we all have with the federal government.
Please
download and print my flyer and ask a friend to come vote for me
on June 3rd to help cure NJ of the Pallone Virus.
Why vote James Hogan?
1) Because I'm NOT a politician. I am an average working Joe and think like an
average working Joe. I owe nothing to any lobbyists, corporations, groups,
associations or parties.
2) Because I was born in 1980, and for nearly my whole life, Frank Pallone has
been my elected representative. The economic and social problems we, self
included, face today did not come about this year, or in the last 5 years, or
even in the last 10 years or 15 years, however, Mr. Pallone has had over 20
years to address these problems, and has repeatedly failed the people of New
Jersey, the people of the United States. He is a politician, and seeks only to
get reelected and follow the party line. He is not representative of "we the
people", and he does not seek to consider our best interests, only his own
political interests. After 20 some years in office, it is time for Mr. Pallone
to step aside and allow someone representative of the people to represent the
people. I trust that the people of our community will rally behind me and vote
for me to be their representative, not only to show "the 16th most powerful
democrat in the country" that "we the people" demand better representation,
but also that "we the people" are still in control of this great nation, and
we the people have the power, and will, to govern ourselves.
3) Because the GOP "power brokers" in New Jersey would NEVER endorse a person
such as myself for such a position. "They" would state the obvious; that I'm
not a politician, or a lawyer, or a judge, or any such non-sense title
that somehow makes one "qualified" to represent people. That these corrupt
politicians would NEVER endorse my candidacy is the greatest endorsement I
could ever hope for. I do not seek their nomination and approval, I seek the
nomination and approval of you, the people of New Jersey, who I believe I can
represent adequately in the federal government. I've researched the Monmouth
County Republican party, I've even thought about attending some of their events,
however, it came as no surprise that in a state where "pay to play" is the name
of the game, "tickets" or "contributions" for every event is upwards of $100 per
person. I can't afford to be part of their little "party", and I suspect that
any other average Joe is equally shutout of the process as well.
4) Because I'm frugal with my own money, and I have no criminal record, and I
don't know "the guy" or "the people". I don't, and never have had, credit card
debt. I don't, and never have had student loan debt. I don't have car payments
or leases. My only debt is the mortgage on my primary residence. I don't waste
my money, and I won't waste your money either. I'll also work to ensure that
others in government won't waste your money, because if they are wasting your
money, they are also wasting my money, which just isn't good for any of us.
