NJ 101.5 Knows best!
I don't listen, but I've heard NJ 101.5 radio hosts push for what they call GRIP - Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians. I agree. In my opinion, 2 terms in enough for any office. Moreover, 3 offices is enough unless you're looking to become President. "Politician" is NOT a career path, and it is not, or it shouldn't be, a life long "job" for someone. I propose that if someone wants to be elected to a public office, they should be permitted to serve a maximum of two terms in that office. At that point, said individual should either seek another office or go back to their day job. No person should ever be eligible for serving more than 6 terms total in any offices, ie, if you serve two terms as city counsel, then two terms as mayor, and then two terms as a US congressman, you're political life is at an end - go back to your day job and allow the next person to step up and fill the role. The only exception I would make is that someone who has been elected to serve in three offices should be permitted to run for President of the US, but again can serve a maximum of two terms. We might lose a good politician this way, but that person is surely welcome to write their thoughts and opinions in the news papers or publish it online, but allow someone new to represent the people. A politician like Frank Pallone, who was elected 20 years ago, is just not in touch with the people of the district 20 years later. He has failed to deliver anything to New Jersey, that New Jersey wants, in 20 years and his time is up, New Jersey needs less federal government (and better state government) and getting rid of Frank Pallone is a huge step forward to getting the federal government out of our lives.

Politician is NOT a career
The founding fathers weren't politicians, they were farmers, bankers, scientists, ship builders, hunters, etc. They were representative of the people and intended for this country to elect people who were representative of the people. Millionaire politicians are NOT representative of the majority of people. Being a millionaire politician doesn't qualify one to represent people and we the people must make every effort to elect the people who best represent us rather than be forced to elect "the guy" that "they party" and "the media" tells us we have to vote for. I can assure you, if not me, there is some other average working class who is also running for an office somewhere. Don't elect the guy that the party picked, the party is part of the problem, and their pick owes "political debt" to the party. Politicians should serve us, the people, not the party.
